Food Dudes Kitchen in Kill Devil Hills was started by two chefs from two popular restaurants already on the beach. Food Dudes refers to the owners Jay Vick and Shawn Radford, who love to surf and make great food. While no one will vouch for their surfing, anyone who enters Food Dudes Kitchen will happily vouch for their delicious cuisine after they leave. These guys are serious about their food and it shows in their menu and the food presentation. Tucked away on the Beach Road at MP 9 in the Sea Shore Shops, Food Dudes Kitchen is a must find on the Outer Banks. Their Outer Banks menu includes all your favorite Outer Banks seafood prepared with Caribbean and Asian influences, imagination and some real panache. Nothing is ordinary at the Food Dudes Outer Banks, a cheeseburger gets a little guacamole, BBQ Chicken is wrapped with bacon and stuffed with poblano and cheddar, even the French fries are waffle cuts. Food Dudes is open daily at 11:30am until, with dinner entrees available after 5pm.
In addition to a great regular menu, on Sundays beginning at 11am, Food Dudes serves an outstanding Outer Banks brunch menu. Again, the emphasis is on the food. There is an eggs benedict served with pulled pork that is slow roasted and fall-off-the-fork tender. They have sweet potato biscuits with country ham and a heuvos rancheros that will make you think you are south of the border. This Outer Banks brunch is a treat to savor.
